Root · A gentle AI health companion for mothers
Let’s take your health off the back burner.
Three minutes a day, one tiny Seed at a time, with a companion that remembers your real life. For mothers at every stage, whatever age your children are.
What mothers told us while Root was being built:

- There’s never time
- Running on empty
- Everyone else comes first
- Nothing sticks
Built with 90+ mothersNEXT Canada (Next 36)University of Toronto
"I know what I should do. I just can’t seem to do it."
A pattern repeated by several of the mothers interviewed while building Root
Almost every mother we spoke with already knew what healthy looks like. Knowing was never the problem.
How Root works
A short conversation, and a garden of the Seeds you’ve planted.
Swipe, or let it drift.
Two words Root uses
Small steps, until they are simply what you do.
- A Seed
- One small thing, chosen by you, attached to a moment that already happens in your day. Small enough that a hard day does not take it away from you.
- Rooted
- What a Seed becomes when you stop deciding about it. Not a streak and not a score. It is simply part of how the day goes now.
That is the whole of it. A few minutes, at a time you choose.

Why Root exists
The cost of motherhood should not be your health.
Where most of us are
You already know what would help. You are last on a list you wrote yourself, and have been for years.
What Root is for
A life where looking after them and looking after yourself stop competing. Not a choice between the two. Both.
Nobody is short of information. What is missing is a way to follow through on it, inside the life you are actually living.
What Root is for
Following through, in the life you actually have.
Root is a pilot. These are what it is built to do, not promises about how it will go.
Listen to the whole mess
Bring the chaos as it actually is.
Root is built to take the whole picture rather than one tidy question, and to find the part of it that can move.
Notice what keeps happening
The same week going the same way.
Root aims to see the pattern, say it plainly, and make the thing smaller before a hard stretch becomes another thing you gave up on.
Help you carry the invisible part
The remembering, the planning, the being the one who holds it all.
Root aims to name that load, and to look at what could be written down, shared, or put down.
Make you feel less alone in it
Mothers supporting mothers, not another expert.
That village is what Root is being built toward, and the pilot is how it gets shaped.
What you can bring here
Whatever is actually getting in the way.
Root is not clinical and does not diagnose or treat. It works on the conditions around a thing rather than the thing itself, and it points you to real care when that is what is needed.
Food, without a diet
What is within reach, not what to cut out
Moving, at the size that fits
Starting from what is already in your week
Sleep, and the day after it
When the night was not yours to control
Stress and the mental load
The remembering nobody else can see
Hormones and life stages
Postpartum, perimenopause, and everything between
The support around you
Who is actually there, and how to ask
Following through
The gap between knowing and doing
Feeling less alone
Other mothers, further along the same thing
Nutrition is with registered dietitians now. The other areas are reviewed as specialists come on board, and the page for professionals says exactly where each one stands.

Root remembers you.
Skip a day, a week, a month. Root won’t mention it, and you’ll pick up where you left off, not from zero. It remembers your life, your hardest hours, and what’s already working, so you never have to start over.
- No meal plans.
- No calorie counting.
- No streaks.
- Nothing to fail at.

A note from the founder
I started Root after seeing health struggle in my own family, and in the families around us. Then I spent months asking mothers about it, and after 90+ conversations a pattern had emerged. Not one of them needed to be told what would help. Every single one could tell me. What none of them had was a way to follow through on it, in the week they were actually having. Closing that gap is what Root is for, and it is where preventive health for a whole family starts.

Root isn’t a clinical tool. It will point you to real care when that’s what’s needed.

There is no better week than this one.
Root is built for the week you are actually having, so waiting for a calmer one is not the point. Setting up takes about five minutes the first time, then it is three minutes a day. Nothing to download.
Free, three minutes a day, and Root is still in its first hundred mothers, so what you say shapes what it becomes.
Not a mother?
Plenty of people find me through a daughter, a partner or a friend. If that’s you, send it to her yourself. It means more coming from you.
