How Root works

Hi. I’m really glad you checked in today.

How are you feeling right now, energy-wise?

EmptyOkayStrong

Thank you for telling me.

Let’s make today really small.

What’s feeling heaviest?

Honestly, I don’t think I’ve eaten since breakfast.

A Seed for you

A bite that’s actually yours

Grab something with protein for yourself while you’re sorting everyone else out.

Right after: the next thing you do for someone else

Good morning, Lucy.

Two minutes of stretching while the kettle boils. If today gets away from you, it is still here tomorrow.

Being built with the pilot

30 mothers are here

Mothers in Canada, shaping this together.

Mothers on the same thing

I stopped trying to make the evening work and moved it to the morning.

A mother, 6 months in

Took me three goes. The third one stuck because it was smaller.

A mother, rooted this one

Not advice, and not experts. Mothers a few months ahead of you on the thing you are on.

Getting startedBuildingGrowingTaking root

Some days the Seed is tiny. Some days it’s just showing up. Both help it grow.

What is becoming yoursThe patterns Root has noticed, what it has written for you, and the small things that are turning into what you just do. A smaller version still counts here.

Swipe, or let it drift.

That is the whole of it. A short conversation, and a garden of the Seeds you have planted. Open whichever of these you actually want to read.

The Root village

Root shouldn’t be one mother and an app. It should be mothers supporting mothers.

Almost every mother I spoke with was carrying it alone, and knew other mothers who were carrying the same thing alone, a street away. The hardest part was rarely the health advice. It was that nobody around them was saying any of it out loud.

So the village is what Root is being built toward: a place where what works for one mother reaches another, and where nobody is starting from scratch on their own. It isn’t built yet. The pilot is how it gets shaped, and joining is how you become part of it from the beginning.

Takes you to the Root pilot signup. Free, three minutes a day, and Root is still in its first hundred mothers, so what you say shapes what it becomes.

There is no better week than this one.
