How Root handles your information

Root is a wellness companion for mothers. This note explains, in plain language, what we collect and why.

What we collect

Your name, your phone number, and the things you choose to tell Root in your daily check-ins, including how you’re feeling and what’s going on in your life. Some of what you share may relate to your health. You decide what to share.

If you ask us to keep you posted about the pilot from this website, we collect the name and email address you give us, and we use them only to contact you about the pilot.

Why we collect it

To deliver a personalized daily check-in that fits your actual life, and to help Root get more useful to you over time. That’s the only reason.

Where it is kept

Your information is stored in Canada, in our secured Google Firebase database. To generate Root’s replies, the messages you send are processed by Anthropic, the company that makes the AI behind Root. This processing may take place outside Canada. We share your information only with the service providers that make Root work, and only for that purpose. We never sell it.

What Root is not

Root is not a clinical tool. It does not diagnose, treat, or provide individualized medical advice. If something you’re going through needs medical or mental health care, Root will encourage you to reach out to a qualified professional.

Your choices

You can ask to see the information Root holds about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time, by emailing paige@healthywithroot.com. We will respond within 30 days.

You can stop the daily texts anytime by replying STOP to any message, or by emailing paige@healthywithroot.com.
