Terms

These terms apply when you use Root. Please read them. If you do not agree with them, please do not use Root.

What Root is

Root is a wellness companion for mothers, delivered as a daily conversation. It is designed to help you build small habits that fit your life. Root is currently available through a limited pilot and is still being developed.

Root is not a clinical tool

Root does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it does not provide individualized medical advice. Nothing Root says is a substitute for care from a qualified health professional, and you should not delay seeking care or disregard advice you have been given because of something Root said.

If something you are going through needs medical or mental health care, Root will encourage you to reach out to a qualified professional. If you are in crisis or believe you may be in danger, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line immediately. Root is not monitored in real time and cannot respond to emergencies.

No guarantee of results

Root is designed to help, and it does not promise results. Every mother is different. We make no representation that using Root will produce any particular change in your health, your habits or your circumstances.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and resident in Canada to use Root during the pilot. By using Root you confirm that both are true.

You agree not to:

  • Use Root for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Root or its systems
  • Share another person's personal or health information through Root without their permission
  • Interfere with, disrupt or place unreasonable load on the service
  • Copy, resell or redistribute the service or its content

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Root is provided as is and without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from your use of Root. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
